Executive Biography

Robert Leone is the Founder and Executive Director of Silent Battles Healing Foundation (SBHF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to trauma-informed recovery resources for veterans, first responders, survivors of violent crime, survivors of sexual violence, and individuals living with PTSD, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and other invisible wounds.

A Desert Storm veteran, survivor of violent crime, and individual who has endured multiple traumatic brain injuries throughout his life, Robert’s commitment to helping others heal is deeply personal. His journey exposed him to many of the same barriers faced by countless individuals seeking recovery: financial hardship, limited access to care, restrictive eligibility requirements, and scholarship programs that often exclude deserving people, including many non-combat and pre-9/11 veterans.

Following a career as a pipefitter and welder, Robert was forced into retirement after becoming the victim of a violent crime. Faced with significant physical, emotional, and neurological challenges, he made a deliberate decision to dedicate himself to healing and recovery. Through years of personal growth, wellness programs, and trauma-recovery work, he gained firsthand insight into both the transformative power of effective treatment and the obstacles that prevent many people from accessing it.

As a single father, Robert raised his daughter while navigating many of these challenges. She witnessed his struggles, perseverance, and determination to rebuild his life despite adversity. That experience reinforced his belief that healing affects not only individuals, but also families, communities, and future generations.

Determined that others should not face the same barriers he encountered, Robert founded Silent Battles Healing Foundation to help remove financial and access-related obstacles to recovery. Under his leadership, SBHF works to provide scholarship assistance, educational resources, provider partnerships, advocacy, and community support for individuals seeking pathways to healing.

Today, Robert’s mission is simple: to ensure that people facing invisible battles are not left behind because of cost, circumstance, or lack of opportunity. Through SBHF, he is working to create a future where hope, healing, purpose, and restoration are within reach for everyone who seeks them.

Founder Story

I founded Silent Battles Healing Foundation because I lived the struggle myself.

As a Desert Storm veteran, survivor of violent crime, and someone who has experienced multiple traumatic brain injuries, I spent years searching for healing while encountering financial barriers, limited access to care, and programs that excluded many deserving individuals. Along the way, I discovered that too many people who genuinely wanted help were unable to access it because of cost, eligibility requirements, or circumstances beyond their control.

After retiring from a career as a pipefitter and welder, I committed myself to healing and rebuilding my life. As a single father, my daughter witnessed many of those struggles firsthand. Her strength, along with my own recovery journey, reinforced my belief that healing should be available to everyone who seeks it.

Silent Battles Healing Foundation was created so others would not have to face those same obstacles alone. Our mission is to help remove barriers to care and connect individuals with opportunities for hope, healing, purpose, and restoration.

Every person deserves a chance to heal, regardless of their circumstances.
